do you have confidence in your cavy drawing abilities? how do you think they'll come out? (if your rabbits are anything to go by, i think they'll be awesome!) your cavies irl are super cute too. how many do you have?

nyctra:

they”ll come out marvelous

I actually don’t know how many I have; eventually, I plan to keep only 6 or 7 sows and a boar or two. At the moment, they run around too much for me to count! lol

15 layers of art. none of them labeled. one line that isn’t supposed to be there. good luck.

Try finding it when you work with 300+.

The different stages of development for art on Lucky Lapine.
We usually go through at least 1 or 2 pose sketches for a breed, trying to find the perfect one for it. Our ultimate goal is breed resemblance, realism and of course cuteness.

In this case we have English Lop, which is the breed we are working on revamping at the moment, and the different stages we went through. English Lops are a breed that is known for their big long ears, and we desperately wanted to show this off. Ideally with the show pose, but unfortunately it was simply too hard to make that look good and match the rest of the bunnies.

English LopThis picture shows their show pose - Curtesy of My Little Sweetie.

I’m a big fan of motion for the rabbits, so we did one test run of them being in a midway pose, getting up / jumping but while players liked it, not enough *loved it*

Nyctra and I found a really gorgeous profile picture of an English Lop doe, and with that as inspiration, she drew up it in a sitting pose, and everyone loved it!

The sketch was finished, and we adjusted the ears to a good length and got to work!

The last picture is the finished version of the rabbit, with it’s shading and general gorgeousness, and shows off the sable and the marten.

Hey, so stop your scrolling for a bit

think about baby bunnies, and how they actually exist.

Like, they’re just little balls of fluff?

image

with tiny, itty-bitty noses and whiskers,

image

and little precious paws.

image

they can have ears that are soft and droopy,

image

they can have ears that perky and fluffy,

image

or they can have both!

image

Some are so small they can fit in your hand

image

image

and most like to snuggle

You can go back to scrolling now.

Sometimes life is just a bit better with baby bunnies.

I was wondering how many bunnies I could fit on Happy before she ran away, but she just went back to sleep purring.
